exercise is the best medicineWe live in a society where Big Pharma now offers a pill to treat virtually every ailment known to man.

Yet, during the Covid-19 pandemic, the United States has performed well below other developed countries in regard to hospitalizations and deaths?

Why?

Because, with an obesity rate of 33% (as estimated by the Centers for Disease Control, the US population was more at risk from severe disease and death than most other countries.

We’ve known this since 2020, yet the obesity rate jumped from 31.9% in 2020 to the current 33.0% here in 2022.

Sadly, some states, particularly in the south, have obesity rates pushing 40%.

The bottom line is that we eat too much and we sit around too much.

Browse through tweets and Facebook posts and how many do you see with pictures of food, rather than pictures of people exercising?

Our society lives to eat rather than eats to live.

But, the real issue is that we’ve become lazy.

Due to the data that came early on where Covid-19 hospitalizations were dominated by obese people (by some estimates, 80% of people hospitalized with Covid-19 were clinically obese), I’ve made it my mission to inspire people to get active.

I highly recommend watching this discussion between Dr. Peter Attia and Dr. Michael Joyner regarding exercise and longevity.

The positive effects of consistent exercise are undeniable.

The key to living a longer and higher quality life is exercise.  And, as Attia states in this discussion with Joe Rogan, both strength training and cardio exercise will contribute significantly toward a better quality life.

So, don’t take my word for it… pay attention to the people who study this stuff for a living.

Now, get to work!
