The next two weeks could be one of the most significant time periods in our lifetime.  There is a good possibility that significant corruption within the Federal government will be exposed.

Let me explain.

If you have followed closely what has gone on over the last three years, and your vision is not clouded by Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS), then you know that it was actually the Obama administration and the Democrats who tried to rig the election in 2016, and have tried to have President Trump removed ever since his election.

Over the next couple weeks, it is very possible that these shenanigans will be exposed, as there is a confluence of events that is about to unfold.

First up… tomorrow, October 22nd, the attorney for General Michael Flynn, Sidney Powell, will be filing a legal response on behalf of Flynn to the federal prosecutors recent response to her motion to compel Brady evidence that she filed in September.

In her motion to compel, she listed 40 categories of evidence she wanted released by the prosecutors that she feels could be exculpatory for General Flynn.  The U.S. attorney, Brandon Van Grack, who was charged with prosecuting General Flynn, essentially told Powell to f..k off.  In the words of Judge Smale, Van Grack told Powell she’d have nothing, and like it!

Last week, Powell filed an additional motion to obtain information from two cell phones she learned that the Department of Justice had recently obtained, that belonged to one Joseph Mifsud.

Mifsud is a central character in the Spygate mystery surrounding President Trump.  It was Mifsud that reached out to former Trump campaign advisor, George Papadopolous in the Spring of 2016, and suggested that the Russians had dirt on Hillary Clinton.

That was shortly followed up by a meeting in London between Papadopolous and Australian diplomat, Alexander Downer.  Papadopolous repeated to Downer what Mifsud had told him, and a couple months later, voila, Downer shares this information with the FBI.

Not surprisingly, Downer has connections to the Clintons via the Clinton Foundation, for which he had obtained $25 million in contributions from Australia.

These cell phones were obtained by the DOJ just weeks after Attorney General William Barr and U.S. Attorney John Durham paid a visit to Italy to learn more about Mifsud’s role in the Trump-Russia investigation.

The reason that Powell is interested in these cell phones is that Mifsud had also attended a dinner in 2014 in which General Flynn was also in attendance, and he reportedly shared some concerns with western intelligence that Flynn seemed to be cozy with Russian woman by the name of Svetlana Lokhova.

Lokhova was subsequently approached by Stefan Halper, a U.S. intelligence asset, and a rumor then began that Flynn and Lokhova were having an affair.

It is quite possible that information on these cell phones of Mifsud will show contacts between him and U.S. intelligence…potentially the CIA, or even the FBI.

Sidney Powell’s Goal in the Case of General Flynn

So, why is Powell going through all this trouble?  Didn’t General Flynn plead guilty to a charge of lying to the FBI?

Yes, he did.  However, many believe that he did so due to enormous pressure that was being placed on him by the prosecutors.

The last straw was that the prosecutors, at the behest of Mueller team leader Andrew Weissmann, threatened to charge Flynn’s son, Mike Flynn, Jr., with being a co-conspirator in a separate FARA case that the special counsel team was set to also bring against Flynn.

The ultimate goal of the special counsel team was to get General Flynn to flip on President Trump.  But, he had nothing to flip about, since there was never any conspiracy with Russia to steal the election, as ultimately concluded by the Mueller probe.

Flynn was also bleeding cash and was forced to sell his home.  As a result, he pled guilty to a single charge of providing false statements to the FBI in regard to a telephone conversation he had with the Russian Ambassador Kislyak in late 2016 during the transition between the Obama and Trump administrations.

Powell believes that there was significant prosecutorial misconduct in this case, including the witholding of evidence by the prosecutors that could exonerate General Flynn.

Her goal is to have the prosecutor team cited for contempt and removed from the case, and to have the case thrown out.

Powell is due to file her response tomorrow, and that will likely be published online a short time after.

Judge Emmett Sullivan, who is handling the case after the original judge, Rudy Contreras, was recused, is then scheduled to hold a hearing in about two weeks to determine whether Brady material should be turned over or not.

I will not speculate which direction he will go.  There is a pretty high bar for holding prosecutors in contempt, but he has done it before… in the case of Senator Ted Stevens about ten years ago.

We’ll see what happens.

Inspector General Report on FISA Abuse

What we should also be seeing in the next couple of weeks is the release of the DOJ Inspector General, Michael Horowitz’ report regarding potential abuse of the FISA (Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act) in the case of former Trump campaign advisor, Carter Page.

This report was rumored to be scheduled for release last Friday, but it has been delayed as the intelligence agencies fight over classification issues.

It is rumored that the report will also go beyond this one particular issue and examine the role of the FBI and DOJ during the 2016 election and afterward.

As indicated, FISA is supposed to deal with foreign intelligence surveillance, yet Page is clearly an American citizen.  Therefore, there is supposed to be a pretty high bar for the FBI to hurdle to obtain a warrant to spy on an American citizen.

Republican members of the House Intelligence committee, particularly Devin Nunes and John Ratcliffe have suggested that the FBI relied heavily on the “Steele Dossier” to obtain the warrant on Page.

The Steele Dossier was a compilation of opposition research memos supposedly put together by former British intelligence officer, Christopher Steele, that contained damning information against Donald Trump and effectively labeled Page as a Russian asset.

Nunes and Ratcliffe had indicated that exculpatory information about Page was not included in the warrant applications.  Furthermore, those that sign off on the applications effectively testify that the information in the application has been verified.  Virtually none of the damning information in the Steele memos was ever verified.

It also appears that FISA warrants were also obtained to conduct surveillance on George Papadopolous, former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, and on General Flynn.

The IG report is reported to be very extensive.  Judging from recent articles in the New York Times, it appears that the report could be quite damning to people such as James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok and others who were in the senior leadership at the FBI and DOJ.

It is anticipated that the report will be released by the end of the month, but we shall see.

The first remarks from U.S. Attorney John Durham

As it was being reported that the IG report was to be released last week, it was also reported that U.S. Attorney John Durham would release some information regarding his ongoing investigation into the origins of the Trump-Russia investigation itself.

Durham is likely the most feared man in Washington, DC right now.  He was tasked by AG Barr to investigate the origins of the Trump-Russia hoax back in March.  At that point, he was already involved in the investigation of FBI leaks to the media.

Durham accompanied Barr to Italy to meet with Italian intelligence officials and learn more about Mifsud.  This may have been when they obtained Mifsud’s cell phones.

A little more background on this… Apparently, after Trump was elected, Mifsud recorded a secret deposition that outlined his role as a spy on the Trump campaign.  He then disappeared.

Mifsud was referred to numerous times in Mueller’s report as a Russian asset.  Yet, it appears that he had strong contacts with western intelligence.

Shortly after Durham returned from Italy, it was reported that he was expanding his team of prosecutors and FBI agents involved in his investigation.  It is reported that his team has interviewed as many as 130 people, and he is also focusing on the CIA and State Department.

At the same time, he has yet to interview some of the major players involved in all of this… Comey, McCabe, Strzok, former CIA Director Brennan and former Director of National Intelligence, James Clapper.

Without giving away the store, Durham can provide some background into why he has expanded his investigation.

Final Thoughts

As you may well imagine, the next two weeks could contain significant fireworks.  Given what we have seen from the Democrats with their “impeachment inquiry,” they know that some bad information is about to be released.

As I mentioned, Durham is likely the most feared man in DC right now.  His investigation has the potential to touch a lot of people in all areas of the Federal government, including the Obama administration and even members of the Senate.

Some of us have felt this entire Trump-Russia debacle is likely the greatest political scandal in the history of the United States.  Some significant information toward that end is about to be released to either prove us right or wrong.

No matter what, I hope more people will be paying attention.
