General Michael Flynn was framed by people in the upper echelong of the FBI, led by former Deputy Director, Andrew McCabe.

Let that sink in a minute.

A 3 star general, with over thirty years of service to the country, a war hero, was framed by the FBI.

Why?

We’ll get to that in a minute.

First, let’s review what happened in this case over the last few days.

Last Friday, Flynn’s counsel, Sidney Powell, was provided with documents from the Department of Justice that she indicated proved her client was innocent, and was set up by the FBI.

These documents were produced as a result of a review being conducted by a US Attorney in Missouri, Jeffrey Jensen, who was appointed to review the Flynn case by Attorney General William Barr.

The documents were turned over to the US Attorney in Washington, DC now handling the case, Timothy Shea.  Shea sent the documents to Sidney Powell on Friday, but they were under a protective order for the case dating back to February 2018.

Powell immediately filed a motion with the court to have the documents unsealed, and she also filed a supplement to her January filing to have the case dismissed.

The DOJ and Powell agreed to a consent order to have the documents unsealed, and Judge Sullivan, who’s been overseeing the case, unsealed them this evening.

The documents may be found here…  Unsealed documents.

The documents include handwritten notes that are now being reported as belonging to Bill Priestap, who was the FBI assistant director for Counterintelligence until he retired in 2018.

The documents also include emails between FBI attorney Lisa Page, who was counsel to Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, and FBI special agent Peter Strzok, her alleged lover at the time.

One handwritten note from Priestap stands out…

“What is our goal? Truth/Admission or to get him to lie, so we can prosecute him or get him fired?”

The notes reflect discussions that Priestap apparently was having with either FBI Director James Comey or McCabe, or both.

The notes also show the FBI having discussions about whether to provide Flynn with a Miranda warning prior to the interview, which was ultimately conducted by Peter Strzok and Joseph Pientka.

Lastly, the notes show that the FBI was hoping to go after Flynn for violation of the Logan Act, which criminalizes negotiatons by unauthorized American citizens with a foreign government.

The issue with the Logan Act is that only two people have ever been indicted for violating it, one in 1802 and one in 1852, and neither were convicted.

In other words, it’s a law that is largely ignored, but the FBI was trying to use it to set up General Flynn.

A conspiracy to entrap General Flynn

What these documents reveal is a conspiracy, yes, a freaking conspiracy, among people at the top levels of the FBI, to entrap a war hero.

We know that at the very least, Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, and Bill Priestap were involved in the conspiracy, and likely former FBI Chief Counsel James Baker, Strzok’s partner Joseph Pientka, and possibly James Comey.

Then acting Attorney General Sally Yates also should be placed on the microscope, as it is highly unlikely she did not know how the FBI was going after Flynn.

The documents show that at least those first four names were discussing how to interview General Flynn, and whether they were going to try and get him to lie.

Brady Evidence

Flynn’s counsel, Sidney Powell has been requesting that ALL Brady evidence be turned over to the defense for months.

Brady evidence is potential exculpatory information that the prosecution may possess that must be turned over to the defense.

The prosecutor handling the case, Brandon Van Grack has denied there was any such evidence, and, through December 2019, Flynn had still not requested to withdraw his guilty plea.

As a result, Judge Sullivan ruled in December that no Brady evidence needed to be turned over, and he scheduled a date for sentencing.

Up to that point, minimal evidence was provided.  In January, Flynn requested to withdraw his guilty plea.  When AG Barr announced that the case was under review, Judge Sullivan postponed all further hearings until some of these issues were resolved.

The documents that were provided to Powell last Friday are clearly Brady evidence that was never turned over.  As such, it appears that Flynn’s due process has been violated by the prosecution.

Also this evening, more documents were delivered to Sidney Powell, who suggested they were even worse than the batch she was provided on Friday.  She immediately asked that they be unsealed as well.

Mueller Special Counsel now in the crosshairs

Brandon Van Grack was part of the Mueller team of prosecutors handling all of the cases coming out of those investigations.

Now that it has been revealed that Van Grack withheld evidence, and it appears that the special counsel had this evidence in its possession, it severely undermines the credibility of the Mueller team.

Andrew Weissman was effectively running the show, but it was Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein who was overseeing the special counsel.

It is known that AG Barr also has a US Attorney reviewing the cases handled by the Mueller team.

FBI Director Christopher Wray likely needs to resign or be fired

Chris Wray and Rod Rosenstein consistently set up road blocks to the Congressional committees, being run by Republicans at the time, who were seeking more information on this case.

Wray is also on record as saying that there was plenty of evidence that Flynn did lie to the FBI agents during that interview in January 2017.

And now, here we are.

This case has blown wide open and it is pretty clear that General Flynn is about to be exonerated.  When that occurs is anyone’s guess.

According to Judge Sullivan’s orders, the DOJ had until May 11 to respond to Sidney Powell’s motions to dismiss this case.

The DOJ under Bill Barr has now shed significant light on this case, and it appears that heads are about to roll.

Implications for FISA investigation

Remember, every single FBI and DOJ official mentioned in this article was also involved with the FISA issues being investigated by US Attorney John Durham.  All but perhaps Van Grack, who was focused on the Flynn case alone.

Durham is investigating everything that went on from December 2015 through the firing of James Comey in May 2017.

This involves the four FISA warrants obtained by the FBI to spy on Trump campaign aid Carter Page.  Sally Yates and James Comey signed the first warrant in October 2016.  Andrew McCabe signed at least two of the warrants, and Rod Rosenstein signed one as well.

Peter Strzok was the lead FBI agent handling the “Crossfire Hurricane” investigation as it was named.

With all this in mind, given what has transpired in the last few weeks, it appears to me that indictments are forthcoming.

Hopefully, sooner rather than later.
