There is a new development in the General Flynn case.
Prosecutors asked for a suspension of the current court schedule in the case, since Judge Sullivan has not yet ruled on the Motion to Compel filing by Flynn’s attorney, Sidney Powell.  The defense concurred.
The brief indicates that the IG report, due out in two weeks, will touch on some of the issues mentioned in Powell’s Motion to Compel Brady material, submitted a couple months ago.
That motion was followed by two rounds of responses by the prosecutors and the defense.  Judge Sullivan has not yet rulled on the motion.  If you are not overly familiar with the case, I wrote a pretty long post about it here… The Railroading of General Flynn.

It’s been my thinking that Judge Sullivan wanted to wait until that report was released anyway, so he could see if there would be relevant info to the Flynn case. Anyone who has followed it closely knows that this is clearly the case.

In my view, this is actually a smart move by the prosecutors, who were part of Mueller’s team.
They must be aware that the report is not going to be helpful to them, and it may actually provide them a way to extract themselves from the case without Sullivan holding them in contempt, which Powell has asked him to do, for withholding Brady evidence.
If there is “fruit of the poisonous tree” evidence, which clearly there is, since Peter Strzok was involved in both cases, then Judge Sullivan has to be inclined to throw this case out.
Therefore, the prosecutors can actually back out themselves if significant issues arise in the IG report.  By dropping the case against Flynn, they can save face, as they have to know they are backed into a corner here.
My guess is that they’ve been made aware that there is going to be trouble for them when the IG report is released.  After all, AG Barr has seen the draft.
I am no attorney, so this is all speculation.  However, I have been following this case closely for two years since Flynn’s guilty plea was immediately followed by the release of the first batch of text messages between Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, AND the judge who accepted the plea, Rudy Contreras was immediately recused and replaced by Judge Sullivan (we subsequently learned in text messages that Strzok and Judge Contreras were at least acquaintances, if not actual friends).
That sequence of events immediately caught my attention.  Up to that point, I really had no idea what to think about Flynn and the entire Trump-Russia investigation.
It’s pretty incredible this story STILL has not concluded.  We’ll know more on December 9th.
