exerciseDo you want to live a higher quality of life and improve your chances of living a long and healthy life?

It all starts with exercise.

If you are the sedentary type and overweight, there is no better time to get started than now.

No, don’t sign up for a new gym membership just yet.  Start small.

Just find time each day to walk around the block, or somewhere for five minutes.  If you can do that every day for a week, start bumping that up to ten minutes.

Before long, you’ll be up to 30 minutes, and just like that you are on your way improving your health by more than you know.

Dr. Peter Attia, a specialist who studies longevity, indicates that by increasing your activity level from Zero to three hours per week lowers risk of death from all causes by 50%.

This must go on for a period of time of course, but the actual level of effort is fairly small.  He is only suggesting that you go for a brisk walk.

Yes, for some people, even that is a tall task, and that is why they should start small.

The whole key is to just get started on building a new habit that benefits you over the long run.

Eventually, you’ll want to build up to including strength training and cardiovascular exercise into your routine.

Exercise is absolutely the best medicine and can help improve the quality of your life for years to come.
